What Is a Micro Market?

A convenience store inside your workplace

A micro market is a self-serve store set up in your breakroom. Open shelves, glass-door coolers and a self-checkout kiosk take the place of rows of machines, so your team can see, pick up and compare everything before they buy. Fresh salads, sandwiches and meals sit next to snacks, drinks and healthier picks. People scan their items, pay with a card, phone or prepaid account, and get back to work. We handle the design, equipment, stocking and service.

  • Rated 5 out of 5

“When the school was looking to switch vending operations from self-op, we reviewed several companies. My3sons was selected and I was introduced to Brian Gallagher, who would provide direct oversight of all vending... I find Brian to be knowledgeable, easy-going, and straight forward to talk with. Regular guy and most importantly, once contacted with any problem (machine down or lacking product), he would have it resolved within the same 24 hours.”

FAQ

Micro market questions, answered

How is a micro market different from vending?

A vending machine keeps products behind glass and drops one item at a time. A micro market is an open, self-serve store: people walk up to the shelves and coolers, pick items up and read the labels, then pay at a self-checkout kiosk. That makes room for fresh meals, salads and a much wider selection. Many locations run both.

Does a micro market cost anything?

For qualifying businesses, no. We provide the shelving, coolers and kiosk, install everything, and handle stocking and service at no cost to you. Your team pays for what they buy. We confirm whether your location qualifies during a free site assessment.

How many employees do we need for a micro market?

Most micro markets work best with about 50 or more people on site each day. Shifts and hours matter too, so we look at every location individually. If a market is not the right fit yet, we will recommend smart vending or pantry service instead.

How much space and power does a micro market need?

Most markets fit in a breakroom corner or a dedicated area of about 100 square feet or more. We need standard outlets for the coolers and kiosk, plus an internet connection for the kiosk through Wi-Fi or a network drop. We measure and plan everything during the site visit.

How do people pay?

At the self-checkout kiosk. People scan their items and pay with a credit or debit card, Apple Pay, Google Pay or a prepaid market account. Checkout takes a few seconds.

What about theft?

Micro markets run on trust, backed by security cameras at the kiosk and inventory tracking on every item. In a workplace where people know each other, losses are rare. We watch the numbers for you, and if something looks off, we work with you to fix it.

How fresh is the food, and how often do you restock?

Our route team restocks on a schedule set by real-time kiosk sales, so popular items do not run out. Fresh food is dated and rotated on every visit, and anything close to its date is pulled.

Can our company subsidize purchases?

Yes. Many companies turn their market into a perk by covering part of the cost, adding funds to employee accounts or offering free items on certain days. We will set up a program that fits your budget.

Can we request specific products?

Absolutely. We build the opening mix with you, then adjust it based on sales data and requests. Employees can suggest items, and we add what makes sense for your market.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in New Hyde Park and service locations across Long Island (Nassau and Suffolk counties), New York City, Westchester and Fairfield County.
